This is a Mississippi Kite, a raptor - one of the eagle and hawk family. It is very much like a falcon in appearance. They are quite capable of inflicting substantial injury, not necessarily by its powerful beak, but with its very formidable talons.
This kite takes a break to watch for prey. As it does, a mockingbird decides it doesn't like the kite hanging around. The mockingbird flies in from behind to urge the kite to leave.
The kite doesn't budge, and the mockingbird persists.
After a few more attacks, the kite has enough of this pest and leaves right after this shot was taken.
Amazing! The mockingbird doesn't seem to care that the kite eats small mammals and......birds!

That bird's not the only one being stalked today. LOL Great shots. Hello New York!
I know who it is, too. Uses Verizon, WinXP, Firefox, has JAVA version 1.5, has monitor set for 1024x768 (32 bit color), and I even have some GPS coordinates. Want 'em? :)
Dallas Texas (at Carrollton) too?
Yeah, *somebody* is logged in through a SWA employee account through Sprint. Exploder v. 6.0 and JAVA 1.3 on an XP machine. They need their computer updated. *G* Don't you just love the internet? So much easier to find jerks than in real life. :)
(I'll send you the info you need.)
